Hallucination date - April 2016
This dream occurred when I was first admitted to this hospital. At that time, my arms were locked tight to my chest and my legs were also curled up against it. I was in this position constantly, and it spilled over into my dream.
I felt as if I had just woken up. I was in an smallish amphitheatre, constructed of beige stonework, and was sitting on a stone block in the centre of the arena. My arms and legs were strapped tightly against my chest with black straps made of nylon webbing; like those used for seat belts, but thinner. They were all over me and kept me locked in this position. Apart from my head, I couldn’t move at all.
What follows is extremely clear in my head, but it’s quite hard to put into words. I will do my best, but I wish I could print the pictures out from my head. Perhaps one day this will be possible.
When I looked up I saw around me a circular wall made up of five levels of repeating identical arches. Each arch was wide enough for one person, and was around 3 metres high. It was reminiscent of the outer wall of the Colosseum. Straight ahead of me on the fourth level was a space, about 2 or 3 arches wide, with large black speakers in it, which were playing very loud house music. Every arch on either side of this space had a person in it. There were about 40 or 50 of them in total. Each person was trapped in a puppet costume made of polyester; the kind you make toys out of, or travel pillows for neck support. Everyone looked identical, the same height and weight, as if they were squashed or stretched into their costume. Nonetheless, I somehow knew who the people in the costumes were: they were all friends of mine.
They were all repeating exactly the same simple dance in synchronisation. The costumes were making them dance against their will, and despite their exhaustion they could not stop.
When they saw me wake up, one of them shouted out, “Help us, we are all dying of starvation!”
Some had already died, but were still dancing.
I was shouting, “Where is Sabrina?”
One person replied, “She is not here she’s already dead, as is everyone else in the whole world. It’s only us left.”
I was very upset at that point, but I could not do anything as I was restrained. Eventually everyone died, but carried on dancing. I was the only person left alive in the whole world. In the end, I also perished.

Jeez thats nasty. Cant imagine what you were going through back then - no wonder it spilled over into your dreams! Your dream kinda gives me the chills man - properly. Guess at least it contains dancing. Wonder who controlled the puppets costumes? Maybe best not to think about it....
ReplyDeletewell that was pretty terrifying! You are right, it would make a good ending to a horror film, or some weird and eccentric programme like Hammer House of Horrors. It would certainly have the effect of staying with the viewer long after the film had finished (thanks for that! I look forward to bedtime.....) The description was very evocative, I can see the scene clearly. What do you make of it? Is it a reflection on feelings of helplessness?
