SpongeDan Cubepants

Hallucination date - October 2016           When I was admitted to RHN in Putney, I was on a ward called Drapers. Usually patients are admitted to this ward when they first arrive at the hospital, as it’s an intensive rehab facility. Normally you spend three months there, but my stay was extended to six. There was a man there who used to constantly bang his shoe on the side of his bed, which would really annoy me. For the first few months, my arms were pinned tightly to my chest, and my legs were bent right up by it, so I was curled up in a sort of ball. I had many dreams and hallucinations around this feeling. One was that I was in a sponge cube and all the people visiting me were also in sponge cubes. We were all stacked up in a wall shape but could still talk to each other. During this time I was wide awake. I had lots of similar hallucinations where I was in various cubes, including: the legs of a table football in a hotel lobby, the tiles on t...

Dancing Puppets of Death

Hallucination date - April 2016 This dream occurred when I was first admitted to this hospital. At that time, my arms were locked tight to my chest and my legs were also curled up against it. I was in this position constantly, and it spilled over into my dream. I felt as if I had just woken up. I was in an smallish amphitheatre, constructed of beige stonework, and was sitting on a stone block in the centre of the arena. My arms and legs were strapped tightly against my chest with black straps made of nylon webbing; like those used for seat belts, but thinner. They were all over me and kept me locked in this position. Apart from my head, I couldn’t move at all. What follows is extremely clear in my head, but it’s quite hard to put into words. I will do my best, but I wish I could print the pictures out from my head. Perhaps one day this will be possible. When I looked up I saw around me a circular wall made up of five levels of repeating identical arches. Eac...

Decaying Tube Station

Hallucination date - 5th October 2018 I was in the main hall of Victoria Tube Station with a friend. The whole station was dilapidated, with cracks in the ceiling and walls. There were no barriers, and on the right hand side of the escalators there was a lift for disabled people. We got into it and started to descend to where the platforms are. The lift itself was quite big, but had no walls, so you could see the walls of the lift-shaft, which were crumbling and looked very old. There were small pieces of masonry falling off them. Weirdly, I was not frightened of this horrendous piece of old machinery. As it rattled down the lift-shaft, we could see the bulkhead lights move slowly past us at regular intervals. As we got deeper, it smelt more and more of damp and mould. There were two or three levels nearer the bottom where the lights were not working at all. It was very dark there, like something out of a horror film. When we finally reached the bottom, my friend and I walked out...
